Communications - Methods & Programs

Communication is vital, not only within World Relief, but also to our brethren and friends who are loyal supporters. It is our intent to be consistent with the scriptural directive of not letting the right hand know what the left hand is doing, but also to provide a channel through which necessary information can flow via brochures, presentations and this website.

If God has given you a talent for creative production of audio/visual, print and/or web pieces, and you are interested in helping on ACWR communications projects, we'd like to hear from you. Please Email us to learn more.

Presentations
At the time of this publication there are five CD or DVD self-running presentations which have been approved for use in communicating World Relief activities. These cover the following:

These are available upon request.

There are also a number of Powerpoint "slideshows" that cover a variety of topics. See a list here.

Presentation of Programs and Activities
The presentation of any program or activity should be approved by the local elder and under the direction of Apostolic Christian Church brethren. If there are times when persons from outside our church make presentations, this activity should be approved by the local elder before it is undertaken. The first choice for any presentation should be to utilize our brethren.

Brochures
Brochures are available for the overall work of World Relief, work teams and various boards have also published brochures specific to their work. It is World Relief policy that all such materials should be approved by the World Relief Board and published by the Communication Committee. Brochures can be downloaded here or requested from the national office.

Silver Lining
Each month a page for World Relief is prepared and published by the Communication Committee in cooperation with the persons responsible for World Relief activities. Over the course of a year, we attempt to cover every area of activity at least once. Submission of copy for these pages should be submitted to the Communication Committee.  Other ideas for articles are always welcome.  Silver Lining articles can be downloaded here.

On the Local Level
Each World Relief Representative is encouraged to use the above communication tools, as well as his own personal efforts, to keep the local congregation informed. It is on the local level where many of our efforts begin, and the World Relief Board depends upon a growing relationship with individual congregations. Order blanks are available from the national office with a listing of all communication materials including letterheads, envelopes and brochures. Other resources are available here.

Identifying Symbol
To bring consistency among all published works approved by the World Relief Board, the World Relief symbol was prepared and adopted. There are three variations of the display of this symbol, as well as approved colors. The rectangular graphic depicting the world should be blue (PMS 301). The World Relief type should be in black. We ask that no one deviate from these officially approved designs or colors when using the symbol in any printed or photographed message. World Relief logo files are available on the Resources page — if you have login privileges, which can be obtained by Emailing the ACWR office.

Coordination with Mission Committee
World Relief work often includes interaction with the Mission Committee. There is deep appreciation and esteem for the efforts of pioneer brethren who established the World Relief and Mission Committees and enabled them to grow. When an activity or presentation involves both entities, we need to communicate and cooperate in such a way as to maintain and enhance our unity.

Volunteer Opportunity
The World Relief Communications Committee is seeking qualified volunteers to handle creative production of audio/visual, print and/or web projects. Click here.
