Distribution

goodfield-sign.jpgThe National Distribution Center Committee coordinates the overall operations of six distribution centers in the United States. These locations are Goodfield and Fairbury, Illinois; Wolcott and Bluffton, Indiana; Bay City, Michigan; and Sterling, Ohio.

This committee also supports the distribution efforts in Athens, Alabama.  Each distribution center has their own local board and a coordinator. The National Distribution Center Coordinator Committee is comprised of these six coordinators under the oversight of a counseling Elder. The goal is to help the distribution centers work together to support the goals and objectives of National World Relief.

The centers receive material donations from individuals and corporations, including food products, medical supplies, clothing, and household items. These donations are distributed locally, shared with other centers for their local distribution or packaged and shipped internationally. Volunteers often donate time and resources to transport products between the centers. Most of the centers distribute food locally and serve as a collection site for quilts, kits, and clothing and many other items. Three of our centers receive milk provided by the Government’s faith based initiative.  distribution center fork lift.jpg

Each center has specialized activities unique to their center. Besides the many material donations received, volunteers donate their time to help others in need.  Blessings are received both by those who fellowship with brethren while donating their time to help at the centers, and by the recipients of the products packaged.  It also helps fulfill Jesus command, “For I was ahungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink…” (Matt 25:35).
