Project Areas: Caribbean: Jamaica: Infirmaries
Apostolic Christian World Relief currently assists three infirmaries on the island of Jamaica. They are government institutions with the following directive:
"Our aim is to take care of the indigents as there is no way for them to live in society. There is no one to take care of them. Our goal is to make sure that their physical, mental, recreational, and spiritual needs are met."
Trelawny Infirmary- located in the town of Falmouth, it is the responsibility of the Trewlawny parish. There are approximately seventy men and women residents.
St. James Infirmary- located in the town of Montego Bay, is the responsibility of the St. James parish. There are approximately seventy men and women residents. Assistance includes material aid and work teams.
Manchester Infirmary- located in the town of Mandeville, is the responsibility of the Manchester parish. There are approximately 102 residents. Apostolic Christian World Relief has been providing aid to Manchester since the early 90's.
