Long-Term Positions

Long-term positions are classified as periods of duration longer than 6 months.  For any position less than 6 months, the individual does not need to go through the Mission Committee application process.  It is encouraged that individuals interested in these positions first meet with their elder before moving on to the next step of contacting the Mission Committee. Most long-term positions begin with a commitment of 6 months or more. The amount of time to be served, and the exact location where one will be sent is determined through the application process of the Mission Committee.

Short-Term Positions

Short-term positions are defined as those positions with a duration period of less than 6 months.  It is not necessary to go through the Mission Committee to apply for these positions.  As with the long-term positions, it is encouraged that individuals first meet with their elders to discuss their interest in serving.
