Project Area : Caribbean : Haiti : Lifeline
The Fairbury and Forrest, Illinois churches have worked with the Lifeline project for many years. It is now an approved World Relief project and anyone is welcome to participate in work teams. The Lifeline projects are continuing to grow as there are now several teams scheduled for work in the Dominican Republic.
Lifeline is a center in Croix-des-Bouquet, Haiti which provides aid to those who are in need. There is a Board of Directors for Lifeline, however most of the decisions are made by the director Nicole Dieudonne who is responsible for the day to day operations of Lifeline. The mission of Lifeline is to provide for the children of the orphanage and also provide as much aid to the community as their resources will allow.
The Bethel Church is a group of believers in Haiti and the Dominican Republic which consists of
a main church located in Croix des Bouquets, Haiti. The church is pastored by Esaie Dieudonne and his brothers Daniel and Nathan. Daniel is Nicole Dieudonne’s husband. The Bethel Church and its leadership provide spiritual guidance and direction to Lifeline. The children who reside in the orphanage attend the Bethel Church.
The Bethel Church of God Mission first started in June 1963 under the leadership of Pastor Esaie Dieudonne with a handful of approximately 8 people in Croix des Bouquets. Shortly after, two other congregations started in Pernier and Dumay. In the early seventies the work began to expand through the organization of revivals, crusades, and organized group evangelism.
The Bethel Church of God Mission has 125 congregations across the island of Haiti including three congregations in the Dominican Republic (La Higuera del Seybo, Los Mulos La Romana, and Pica Piedra, La Romana) and 48 elementary schools. Most of the schools are located in the remote areas including the mountain places where the children don’t have access to any type of education except what some missions or humanitarian organizations provide. Many of them are struggling to keep the doors open from year to year because of financial difficulties. A large number of those schools are educating malnourished children. Many of the 125 church congregations are not worshiping in a regular church building yet.
