Project Area: Caribbean: Jamaica: Schools
There are four schools that Apostolic Christian World Relief supports.
Waldensia Primary School- this school is located in Sherwood Content Community. It is a public school that starts each morning with a devotion and prayer.
Caribbean Christian Center for the Deaf (CCCD)- there are three schools in
Jamaica under the CCCD jurisdiction that were established to minister to the deaf and hearing impaired persons on the island of Jamaica. They are located in Kingston, Knockpatrick, and Montego Bay. Apostolic Christian World Relief sends aid and work teams to help the schools. Their major goals are:
1. Salvation in and through Jesus Christ
2. Academic Education
3. Vocational Education
4. Spiritual growth
5. Community Awareness
Jamaica Deaf Village- as part of the CCCD, the concept for the deaf village is to provide a place for the adult Christian deaf to be able to grow in their walk with the Lord. If there is a
need, they also help find a place to work and live.
Granville Place of Safety- is located in Falmouth. It is a government run institution and serves as a holding facility for girls who for one reason or another cannot return home to their parents. These girls have committed offenses, have been abandoned, have been abused, or have gone beyond the control of their parents.
New Beginnings Boys School- giving boys with a bad start a new beginning. New Beginnings ministers to street and problem boys and currently has seventeen boys under their care. Their goal is to provide a full residential care, give the boys an education and help them to know the Lord and walk in a righteous life.
