We sing “beautiful for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain, for purple mountains majesty above the fruited plains.” Yes, our blessed land of freedom, where we can worship our great God as His Spirit leads us, a land truly blessed of God.

While many in this land are blessed with material goods, we find today, as in the days of Kings David and Solomon, and when Christ Jesus walked on earth, all societies include poor people. He told His disciples, “for ye have the poor always with you”. We are without excuse if we do not use the opportunities God places in our path, to do “good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” (Gal 6:10)
